Cars 'n' Coffee

What happens at 6:00 in the morning? Perhaps one of the coolest moments I have ever had since building a racecar...
About once a month, the Dupont Registry holds a morning car meet. They are one of the many holding these “Cars n Coffee” meets where the crowd is in at 6:30am and gone by 9:00am. This gathering is for the higher end car; Lambo, Ferrari, Shelby, and other exotics. There is also the modified Vettes, Stangs, and other muscle cars. The whole show is just for the enthusiast who wants to see something you don’t see every day.

With the weekend off from driving events, and a healthy car, we decided it was a perfect time to attend. Problem was, there is no room really to park a truck and trailer…

Solution...?

STREET DRIVE THE CAR to the meet (All American Street Car Performance stepped up with a transport tag!) Even better, they come along and get some nice shots of the car cruising down the roadways.

We pull up a little after 7:00am and it’s already slammed. There isn’t much of anywhere to park. Shaun (All American) parks in the far lot and I circle back on a mission to find a spot in the heart of the meet. As I get back near the main entrance, a Dupont Registry representative saw the car and hustles over. He suggests parking right at the side of the main entrance to the meet. We are right front near vendors, and will be the first or last thing that EVERYONE will pass as they leave the parking lot.

As soon as I stepped out, there were people coming up non-stop. I actually never got to walk around and look at any cars with all the interest I was getting.

When it was time to leave, I happened to get in a group with 2 new Mustang Boss 302’s and a Ferrari. I was grinning from ear to ear. While no one did anything crazy, I had a blast driving down the road in a group like that, even getting a nod from one of the Stang drivers.

All in all, it was a short but productive day, and we proved that even in the most extreme car scenes, we still get plenty of attention.
